Veteran Mexican League slugger Carlos Sievers crashed two homers and drove in three runs to pace the Quintana Roo Tigres’ 8-3 win over the Oaxaca Guerreros on May 20. Tigres starter Pablo Ortega’s record rose to 7-2 as Quintana Roo stretched their record to a Liga-best 32-14, good for a three-game lead over 29-17 Puebla in the South Division.
Mexico City and Reynosa are tied for the LMB North lead at 30-16. The Diablos lost to Saltillo, 8-7, on May 20 as the Saraperos’ Refugio Cervantes recorded two homers and five RBIs. Reynosa beat Monterrey, 2-0, the same night as starter Felix Diaz and three relievers combined for the shutout.
