DIABLOS EDGE REYNOSA FOR MEXICAN NORTH FIRST HALF TITLE

The first half of the Mexican League’s 2009 season is in the history books. The Mexico City Diablos Rojos slipped past the Reynosa Broncos on the final day of the first-half schedule to win the Northern Division title with a 32-18 record, a half-game up on 31-18 Reynosa. Mexico City earned eight points for finishing first while Reynosa collected seven. The Mexican League uses a points system over both halves of their season to determine playoff seeding.
In the LMB South, Quintana Roo cruised to the first half crown with a 35-15 mark, three games ahead of second-place Yucatan, who finished at 32-18. The second half schedule is underway.
