YOSHIDA MAKES THREE MORE APPEARANCES FOR KOBE

After sitting out several weeks due to shoulder problems, 17-year-old female pitcher Eri Yoshida has made three more appearances for the Kobe 9 Cruise of Japan’s independent Kansai League.

The sidearming knuckleballer struck out the only batter she faced May 29 against the Akashi Red Soldiers in her first game since opening night in April. Yoshida struggled in another stint against Akashi on June 13, hitting two batters in the ninth inning of a 2-2 game, and things didn’t go better in a June 29 outing against the Osaka Gold Villicanes. She entered the game with two out in the eighth, and gave up a double, then hit and walked the next two batters to load the bases before being pulled.
